About

My name is Han and I am currently studying dentistry. I headed down the dentistry pathway because I really valued the work of dentists in the community.

Let me tell you about my positive patient experiences. When I was 13, my dentist pulled out my carious tooth saving me from discomfort and food getting stuck. Oddly, I have naturally missing lower teeth which made feel like a trout. Through the help of my orthodontist and dentist, the gaps were closed with a bridge and I found myself smiling more. Anyways, good oral health gives people the capacity to smile beautifully, express confidently and eat comfortably. That was my experience and the experience I hope others can have too.

The reality when I stepped into the field was depressing. I saw and personally experienced workplace bullying and burnout. I had it bad but others were crying.  Low pay, long hours, no lunch and never enough. On top of that, dental school regurgitated online lectures and practical classes were limited. I really wanted to quit. But I never did. As someone who came out of these negative experiences, I want to keep going to be the colleague or mentor I wish I had. Today, I am grateful for the past and I am excited about the new opportunities each day presents.

With lots of patience and effort, I will get wiser and stronger to accept higher challenges. I started MolarCubs in 2023, hoping it to be the fun and friendly platform for everyone to learn about oral health.

Just keep swimming!

(Sometimes you'll get lost but you'll definitely be fitter!)
